Streetwise Music Instruction performs its next ROCK SHOP concert today, August 26, from 4-7:30 p.m. at CPCC's Halton Theater in Charlotte. This production ~ "Livin' the Dream" ~ will be a unique collaboration of music, theater, and dance, providing the audience with a complete rock-and-roll performing arts experience.
"We are excited to finally have an opportunity to bring music, dance and theater together for rock school participants, through our partnership with the Ballantyne Theater Company," says Karl Mokal, Streetwise Music owner and the writer/director of Livin' the Dream. "The Ballantyne Arts Center is making it possible for students to express themselves in ways that extend beyond simply 'playing' music. We believe it's the next step for rock schools and exactly what Charlotte needed!"
Streetwise Music has been Charlotte's leader in private music instruction since 2001 and specializes in guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, drums and vocals. However, what sets Streetwise Music apart from its competitors is the popular rock school program – "The ROCK SHOP." Instructors work with students to form a band, create a set list, develop solos and performance techniques and, after 10-to-12 weeks, perform live, on stage, at one of Charlotte's popular music venues such as Amos' Southend and the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.
Tickets for "Livin' the Dream" are available for only $10 (or $5 for CPCC students) at both Streetwise Music Instruction locations, at the Halton Theater Box Office, and online at https://tix.cpcc.edu/events/streetwise_livin_the_dream.
Streetwise Music Instruction has two studios ~ Ballantyne Corners and The Shops at Wesley Chapel ~ and is open from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday. For more information on private lessons or the ROCK SHOP program, call (704) 821-ROCK (7625), or visit streetwise-rocks.com.
