Sassafras Cannon by Charlotte-based playwright Timothy D. Starnes will be opening in a two-night special event, the first night taking place at The Museum of the Waxhaws on Saturday, March 28th at 8 PM, and the second preformance taking place at UNC Charlotte, in McKnight Hall. This preformance will take place at 7 PM.
Sassafras Cannon is a dark comedy set during the American Civil War, and features a cast of characters monopolizing on America's time-tested fascination with all characters wild and strange, with bits of real history and real misinformation mixed in to create a unique fourth-walless production offering the audience a glamourous look back at the days of the Ziegfeld Follies and vaudeville shows.
Tickets for the opening gala, March 28th at the Museum of the Waxhaws, are $10 per person.
Tickets for the March 29th preformance at McKnight Hall, UNC Charlotte are free, courtesy of Robinson Hall Players.
