The Levine JCC of Charlotte will hold open auditions for adults (18 years and up) for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Andrew Lloyd Webber on Sunday, August 29th. Auditions will take place at the Levine JCC, 5006 Providence Rd, in Gorelick Hall.

Roles are available for adults, including Joseph, the Narrator (female), Jacob, 11 brothers, 11 wives, Potiphar, Potiphar's Wife, Baker & Butler (male or female). Please arrive at 2:00. We will have a brief organizational meeting and fill out forms. Please bring your calendars so you can accurately list all conflicts on your form. Next, adults and children will learn a section of one of the full cast numbers, music and choreography, and this section of the song will then be used for the audition for those adults/teens wishing to be considered for featured or principal roles. Adults and teens may be asked to stay until 6:00 pm for callbacks. No preparation is necessary, other than being familiar with the music from the show. We will be singing and dancing so dress appropriately.

Full Cast rehearsals are on Sundays, from 2:00 - 5:00, and possibly earlier and/or later for adults/teens, depending on conflicts. Possible rehearsals for featured roles are Tuesday/Thursday in the 4:00 - 9:00 time frame, again depending on conflicts. The rehearsal schedule is somewhat flexible, based on casting, so it is extremely important that everyone come prepared to give detailed schedule information on August 29th.

All cast members are required to be at all tech rehearsals Monday - Thursday November 29th - December 2nd, 4:30 - 7:30. Performances are Saturday & Sunday December 4th & 5th, times TBA.

Children 2nd grade - 18 years old are invited to participate in the children's chorus/young teen ensemble. Some teens may be considered for brothers or wives, depending on height. The participation fee includes show t shirt and 2 tickets. Attendance on Sunday, August 29th is mandatory for all participants.

All participants should expect to purchase some individual costume items, and families should plan to volunteer in some capacity (painting scenery, selling sponsorships/advertising, working backstage etc). We will also be looking for adults to take on positions with more repsonsibility (stage management, lighting, sound, set construction, volunteer coordinator, director of advertising/sponsorship)
