JoyFest is bringing together legendary Gospel music artists for its summertime festivals. Let's drop a few names here: Mary Mary ft. My Block Inc Family, Marvin Sapp, Tamela & David Mann, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard! Mary Mary ft. My Block Inc. Family, and Marvin Sapp will be at JoyFest - NC in Charlotte, NC on Mary 25th! The Mann Family and Tasha Cobbs Leonard are booked for the JoyFest - VA festival at Kings Dominion in Doswell, VA on July 13th!
These legendary artists are being joined by a roster of already-announced Gospel music all-stars - Grammy-nominated Travis Greene, Dove Award winner and multi-nominee Jonathan McReynolds, "Won't He Do It" hit-maker Koryn Hawthorne and last season's No. 8 finalist on The Voice - Kymberli Joye, who were all announced last week and will be at both festivals! As if it couldn't get any better, we are welcoming the musical talent of Mr. Talkbox and spoken word artist Egypt Speaks to round out both events.
This may be the year to buy tickets to both JoyFest festivals. Hey, East Coast friends! Can you say, "Summertime road trips?"
"We are so blessed to be able to offer so many legendary artists and such great new talent on JoyFest this year," said Richard Young, Director of Operations for Premier Festivals. "We are super excited about the reunion of the sisters Mary Mary at JoyFest - NC since they have not toured together in such a long time. We couldn't be more pleased to offer Pastor Marvin Sapp in North Carolina, and The Mann Family, along with Tasha Cobbs Leonard in Virginia. We are so excited to have even more gospel greats like Travis Greene and Jonathan McReynolds and newer talent too - with Koryn and Kymberli Joye. Each JoyFest festival will be unique and outstanding. JoyFest 2019 promises to offer our best gospel music festivals, to date!"
On May 25, at JoyFest - NC:
The groundbreaking duo Mary Mary - comprised of Gospel music sisters Erica and Tina Campbell - are breaking their nearly seven-year U.S. touring hiatus to sing at JoyFest - NC this summer! The sisters broke through musical barriers nearly 20 years ago with their pioneering crossover hit, "Shackles (Praise You)" in 2000. They have since gone on to win numerous accolades: four Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, 18 Stellar Awards, four NAACP Image Awards, a Soul Train Award, and two BET Awards. With seven albums under their belts, a hit television series MARY MARY, and their latest album release Go Get It, Erica and Tina Campbell have never wavered from defying convention to fulfill their mission: "sending uplifting messages through music and words that are relatable to everyone." They will be joined by My Block Inc Family, a group founded by Erica's husband - the Grammy-award-winning record producer Warryn Campbell.
JoyFest - NC is also extending a hearty welcome to Marvin Sapp - a self-proclaimed "preacher called by God who is gifted to sing." Senior pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church, Bishop Sapp is a passionate speaker, Bible teacher, author AND award-winning Gospel music singer - receiving 10 Grammy nominations, 22 Stellar Awards, 2 Soul Train Music Awards, 2 BET Awards, 2 Dove Awards, and 8 BMI songwriter's awards for sales, along with many other accolades.
As JoyFest-NC concludes in May, gear up for JoyFest-VA on July 13:
The multi-talented Mann Family - led by David and Tamela Mann - will grace JoyFest - VA. Tamela Mann has recorded four highly acclaimed albums, including "The Master Plan," and has been nominated for an NAACP Image award. Currently on "Madea's Farewell" play tour with Tamela, husband David Mann is a multifaceted actor and 2011 NAACP Award winner for Outstanding Actor in A Comedy Series (Meet The Browns, "Mr. Brown").
Tasha Cobbs Leonard is a Grammy and Billboard Award winning artist and businesswoman who wears many hats. As a Gospel Recording Artist, she has spent the last decade traveling the world sharing the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with the masses. She is perhaps best-known for her "Break Every Chain," which landed as Billboard's #1 song for a total of 12 weeks. This anthem unleashed liberation to countless audiences nationwide each time it was heard or ministered. The album Grace landed on Billboard's Top 10 Gospel Albums chart for a year.
