This Pulitzer prize winning drama covers the story of a squabble over a piano that has been in the family for generations. Brother Boy Willy and sister Berneice each view the family heirloom in a different light. Boy Willy sees it as the seed money needed to buy The Farm the family has worked on for generations first as slaves and then as sharecroppers. Berneice sees it as the repository of the family history. The carvings on the piano trace the family from its roots in Africa to the plantation on which they worked as slaves. Mix in a gambling uncle , a buddy on the lam from the sheriff and a would be preacher and you've got a compelling story of an African American family in transition. Don't miss this rare opportunity to see the work of the greatest American playwright of the latter half of the Twentieth Century.
