The workshop starts July 1 and runs through July 25, 4:00 - 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This is an opportunity to work with Tony Winners Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel. Along with the original writer Abraham Tetenbaum and original composer Norman Berman. The show will perform 2 weekends and will accommodate 2 full casts. The first cast has been chosen but there is room in the second cast for those who would still like to audition. The cost of the workshop is $500 for 4 weeks of exposure to the process of creating a new show... from the writer's perspective... the composer's perspective... and the skilled work of the Director/Choreographer team that won the Tony for Jay Johnson: My Two and Only. This workshop is an excellent opportunity for actors but also aspiring writers, composers, directors and costumers. Costumers will learn a ton working with the wide span of eras used in this production. Abby & Norman cut their teeth in NY working with Joseph Papp when he was creating A Chorus Line. The show is set to hit NY in the next 2 years. There is no guarantee that this cast will travel with the production; however, once a show is set to your skills, it's difficult to have someone else take your place.

FIRST KIDS is being produced by Clater-Kaye Productions and Hickory Community Theatre and being made possible through a grant from the United Arts Council of Catawba County through the NC Arts Council, with funding from the State of NC and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
