Carowinds, the 122-acre combination amusement and water park located on the border of the Carolinas near Charlotte, has announced the tail-end of its 2010 Season Pass "Buy Now, Pay Later" program to help families on a tight budget still enjoy a summer of fun and excitement for less without paying until March 1, 2010.

The Season Pass "Buy Now, Pay Later" program was designed by Carowinds as a response to park patrons who are more budget-conscious due to the current economic environment. The holidays may be over, but the Park's "Buy Now, Pay Later" program is sure to make it feel like Christmas all over again. Now until January 17, a 2010 Season Pass may be purchased without payment up front, and no payment until March 1, 2010.

New for 2010, Carowinds has rolled out a newly structured three-tiered season pass program, each level available through the program:

Silver Season Pass- valid for admission to Carowinds any public operating day of the 2010 season and does not include any additional benefits. The pass sells for $59.99.
Gold Season Pass- valid for admission to Carowinds any public operating day of the 2010 season and includes benefits, free parking and admission to SCarowinds' Halloween Haunt. The pass sells for $79.99 each, $69.99 each when four or more are purchased or $61.99 for Junior and Senior guests.

Platinum Season Pass- valid for admission to any Cedar Fair Amusement or Outdoor Water Park any public operating day of the 2010 season and includes benefits, free parking and admission to SCarowinds' Halloween Haunt. The pass sells for $160 each, $144 each when four or more are purchased or $90 for Junior and Senior guests.

A 2010 Season Pass may be purchased at www.carowinds.com.

Carowinds will open on Saturday, March 27 for weekend operation. IntimidatorTM, named for racing legend Dale Earnhardt, will debut on opening day as the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster in the Southeast. This scream-machine will send riders speeding down eight camel-back hills at speeds of up to 80mph!
Carowinds is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "FUN." In addition to Carowinds, Cedar Fair owns and operates ten other amusement parks, six water parks, one indoor water park resort, and five hotels. Cedar Fair also operates the Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park in Gilroy, CA under a management contract.
