Blumenthal Performing Arts invites you to participate in our next OPEN MIC night event on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7:30pm at McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square. This free event is open to performers and spectators of all ages. Instrumentalists, singers, dancers, storytellers, poets, jugglers, magicians and others are all welcome. Audience seating is on a first-come-first-served basis.
Interested in performing? Please see below for registration details and performance guidelines. Beginning performers, as well as veterans, are encouraged to participate.
Due to great interest, Blumenthal Performing Arts has implemented a lottery system for selecting performers. If you would like to perform on Friday, Feb. 14, please send an email to
openmic@ncbpac.org and include the following information:
1. First and Last Name of the performer(s)
2. Performance Genre (singing, playing an instrument, telling a story, etc.)
3. Current City
Blumenthal Performing Arts will accept emails from interested performers between Wednesday, Jan. 29 and Wednesday, Feb. 5. Names will be "drawn from a hat" on Thursday, Feb. 6, and results of the lottery will be emailed to everyone who requested a performance spot.
If your name is not drawn for the Feb. 14 event, please come cheer on other local talent as an audience member, and plan to submit your name again for future OPEN MIC events.
Here are some guidelines to remember for the OPEN MIC event:
Performances must be no longer than 5 minutes
Performances must be appropriate for a general audience-inclusive of very young children.
Performances must stay within the stage dimensions: 33' wide x 18' deep
Blumenthal will provide: up to 5 microphones, CD player, ipod connection, piano, DI box for instrument amplification (1/4" plug), chairs and stools
Each performer and group must set up the stage for their act within 90 seconds and clear the stage of their properties within the same amount of time.
