The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center will host an Aluminum can food drive with cast members of THE ALUMINUM SHOW to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank on January 15. Television camera crews, radio, and print still photographers are invited to cover the aluminum can food drive at the Wachovia Atrium to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.  Cast members of THE ALUMINUM SHOW will entertain the crowd.  Anyone who donates five cans of food will receive a voucher good for one free ticket to THE ALUMINUM SHOW! Limit one voucher per person.  Free ticket offer valid on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday evening performances through Sunday, January 24.

Cast members of THE ALUMINUM SHOW will be in costume at the Wachovia Atrium to entertain the lunchtime crowd and show them a bit of what they can expect to see from this breathtaking production.

The opening of THE ALUMINUM SHOW here in Charlotte marks the start of the U.S. tour of this production. The stunning and incredible show - direct from Israel offers a theatrical experience that is totally unique, combining amazing special effects, acrobatics, jazz and modern dance, puppetry, dazzling aluminum costumes and lighting. Inanimate objects come to life with energy, emotion and even personality, as silver industrial materials create a luminous and reflective world.

The global sensation, The Aluminum Show launches US tour this January. Created by Ilan Azriel and featuring the music of Avi Belleli and Rafa Sofer, The Aluminum Show offers a visually stunning and artistically incredible production that is totally unique, combining special effects, acrobatics, jazz and modern dance, and puppetry all wrapped in an energetically shiny package. Reminiscent of Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soleil and STOMP, The Aluminum Show is a sparkling world of illusion and fantasy for the entire family.

Ilan Azriel, a dancer and a creator, was born in 1968 in Dimona, Israel. He danced with Inbal Dance-Theater in Tel Aviv as well as the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC). In 1997, he established the Dollbeat Group as an independent creator. Since then he has staged performances that combine dance, unique choreography and puppetry to operate life-size puppets, masks and other objects. Dollbeat's last performance, Around the World, won critical acclaim in Israel and in Europe, and represented Israel at international tourism fairs in Berlin, Moscow and Las Vegas. The Aluminum Show was first received acclaim and notoriety when it first performed at the Israel Festival, Jerusalem 2003. The Aluminum Show is presented by Lidor Productions.
