From the first soaring notes to the final triumphant chorus, Barter Theatre's production of "LES MISERABLES" is a musical experience you won't forget. The cast and production teams are working hard to deliver what is widely considered one of the best musicals of all time.

"Les Mis" begins tonight, May 18. To celebrate the highly anticipated summer musical, Barter Theatre is giving away a pair of tickets Monday-Friday (May 13-17) on their Facebook page. Visit BarterDoesLesMis.com for more information.

Directed by Richard Rose with costumes and choreography by Amanda Aldridge, the actors and production teams are making final preparations this week. This past Sunday, the six piece musical ensemble consisting of two keyboards, a trombone, trumpet, French Horn and percussion united with the cast for the first time to put everything together before the entire production moves into main stage for technical rehearsal week. The ensemble is under the direction of Musical Director Lee Harris.

All the songs will be included in Barter's production including "On My Own," "Who Am I?" and "One Day More." The Barter company has never been more excited. Twenty-six actors will bring the story to life. For complete cast information see the website.

The "Les Miserables" set, designed by Dale F. Jordan, is inspired by a particular piece of French sculpture, marking the grave of 19th Century French republican Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Baudin.

Many people cannot go to Broadway or New York, or afford to see a national touring production. Barter offers many different price points, group rates and packages, as well as other promotions such as Pay What You Can Day. Pay What You Can Day for "LES MISERABLES" is Sunday, June 2 for the 3pm performance. Barter is also offering $10 Tuesdays for all college faculty, students and staff for "Les Mis." Reservations cannot be made for Pay What You Can.
