THE ACTOR'S THEATRE OF CHARLOTTE ANNOUNCES WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES FOR 2011

TELEPROMPTER WORKSHOP

SUNDAY - FOUR HOUR WORKSHOP - JANUARY 9 - 5PM - 9PM

This intensive workshop gives the actor the comprehensive training needed to master the use of theTelePrompTer. Actors who want to be more marketable to producers and directors of corporate and industrial productions and television

commercials should take this workshop. TelePrompTer Operator on site!
Cost: $175.

AUDITIONING FOR THE CASTING DIRECTOR

SUNDAY - FOUR HOUR WORKSHOP - JANUARY 16 - 5PM - 9PM

Participants learn exactly what the Casting Director of films expects at an audition... from signing in to delivering the lines. Information learned in this workshop will turn auditions into paying work! All exercises taped and critiqued.
Cost: $95.

VOICE OVER AND NARRATOR WORKSHOP

SUNDAY - FOUR HOUR WORKSHOP - JANUARY 23 - 5PM - 9PM

Learn everything you'll need to become a successful voice over talent by doing scripts for radio and television, documentary narration and corporate television. Work on accents and character voices for animated films and television.
Cost: $95.

SO YOU WANNA BE A STAR! FOR CHILDREN 5 YEARS - 10 YEARS OLD

SATURDAY, TWO HOUR WORKSHOP - JANUARY 29 - 10AM - 12NOON
This fun-filled workshop will give children and their parents a great opportunity to learn what it takes for kids to be considered for roles in television shows, movies and commercials. Children will participate in a variety of exercises designed to accentuate their natural talent and minimize their fears.

Cost: $59.


NO FEAR WORKSHOP
SUNDAY - FOUR HOUR WORKSHOP - JANUARY 30 - 5PM - 9PM
An exhilarating workshop! Actors face their greatest fears and ultimately overcome them. Students will learn how to generate positive energy, solid confidence and a strong sense of self. Specifically designed for the actor who auditions a lot, but no longer gets cast.
Cost: $95.

SUNDAYS FROM 7PM-9PM BEGINNING FEBRUARY 20, 2011 AND ENDING MARCH 13, 2011 (FOUR CLASSES)

There's No Business, Like Show Business covers all the basic skills an actor needs to audition for and work in films, television and commercials. Maximum on-camera time, constructive critique and valuable "insider" information to help the novice actor begin a lucrative acting career. Begin making money doing something you LOVE!!!
Cost: $175.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR...

 

Elyse Williams has been producing, writing and directing broadcast television programs since 1966, when she produced and hosted "The Sound of Youth", a public affairs series for WSB in Atlanta. Since then she has produced dozens of award-winning broadcast series and documentaries for PBS and hundreds of non-broadcast DVDs/videos for corporations, companies and non-profit agencies.

Everyday Edisons, a PBS series for which she is credited as Producer, is airing on over 300 stations throughout the United States. Other series include: Fret 'n Fiddle, Around Carolina, Fingerprints and The Yummy Club. Documentaries include: Women: Coming out of The Shadows, Home from the Hill, Faith of our Fathers and Breaking Down the Barriers.

Her corporate clients include Time Warner Cable, Bank of America, IBM, Wells Fargo Corporation, National Gypsum, Price Waterhouse, Carolinas Medical Center and 5/3 Bank. Some of her commercial productions include AAA Car Care Centers, The Uptown Shelter, The Bagwell and Edge-a-Lawn.

Elyse is also an accomplished Casting Director, hired by many Fortune 500 companies to conduct auditions and cast talent. She also teaches Introduction to the TelePrompTer, Preparing for your On Camera Experience and How to Effectively Communicate with the Media to corporate executives and associates.

EAW Productions, LLC has been recognized for many of their productions, receiving awards from the American Film and Video Association, International Association of Broadcast Communicators, SouthEastern Communications Association, Telly Awards, Community Cable Television Association and KidsNet. Her PBS team at WTVI received an Emmy nomination for the series, Fingerprints and Everyday Edisons has won several national Emmys and Tellys.

Elyse is a member of Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Radio and Television Artists and Media Communications Association-International and has taught seminars, workshops and/or classes for Central Piedmont Community College, the Jewish Community Center, Children's Theatre, JTA Talent, Talent Link, Inc., The Stone Agency and Evolution Models and Talent.

In her spare time Elyse enjoys acting on stage and screen. Past credits include roles in independent feature films, made for TV movies, international DVD series and national commercials such as Kool-Aid, Crisco, Luck's, Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion, Hardees and Wendy's.
