GRAMMY award-winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum, known for his much-celebrated recording and live performance series, The Gospel According to Jazz, will kick off his 7th Annual Christmas concert tour-A Gospel According To Jazz Christmas-Thanksgiving Weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina. Whalum will share the stage with the phenomenal Sheila E. The concert will also feature Kirk's brother, vocalist Kevin Whalum, vocalist Lynn Mabry, and musical director, keyboardist and vocalist John Stoddart.
Sheila E picked up the drumsticks and started making music at the precocious age of three, and has since established herself as one of the most talented percussionist/drummers and performers in the world. Performing and/or recording with George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Billy Cobham, Con Funk Shun, Marvin Gaye (on his final world tour), Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Gloria Estefan, Patti LaBelle and Stevie Nicks among others. Sheila E. continues to produce and perform music throughout the world. Her current studio project and tour, ICONIC, is her continued contribution to the music industry and her efforts in bringing awareness to social issues and humanitarianism.
