Do not miss this musical extravaganza filled with extraordinary special effects, sets and costumes to bring this wonderful tale of chocolate goodness to life. Willy Wonka is looking for an heir to take over his chocolate empire. Through a contest of finding speciAl Golden tickets, ticket winners are given a tour where Wonka ultimately finds his heir by weeding out the bad children one by one as they find their demise in chocolate, gum, nuts and wonka-vision.
What is wonka-vision? If you are not familiar with the film, you will be introduced to Mike Teavee who is obsessed with television and is magically transported by wonka-vision to make him 6" tall. You will meet Violet Beauregard who chews gum all day and discovers the everlasting gobstopper that turns her into a giant blueberry. Augustus Gloop loves chocolate and finds that over-indulging can be too much of a good thing...And then there is Veruca Salt, who gets everything she wants until she is discovered to truly be a bad nut. Discover all of these colorful characters and their guardians as they become ticket winners and take one of the most bizarre tours ever through the magic of Live Theatre...and the show would not be complete without those orange and green oompa loompas singing their anthems of learning a lesson.
Willy Wonka is delectably played by YLT veteran Christopher Quigley. Charlie Bucket is played by Jacob Schmitt. Bob Haag delivers a heartfelt performance as Grandpa Joe. Noah Schmitt over-indulges as the chocolate loving Augustus Gloop. Mrs. Gloop is comically played by Chris Ausherman. Hannah Langmead is the nasty Veruca Salt who everyone loves to hate. Tom O'Shea plays her nutty father. The hyperactive Mike Teavee is played by Zach Deporter. Pam Eshler is his kooky mother that feeds his passion for TV.
