Millbrook Playhouse (David E. Leidholdt-Producing Artistic Director, and the Board of Directors) is thrilled to announce that on Friday and Saturday, May 5th & 6th, the Uptown Music Collective (a nonprofit school of music, based in Williamsport, Pa) will present Life in the Fast Lane: The Story of the Eagles at the Millbrook Playhouse. The two-night performance will feature students from the school's Special Performance Group 1, who range in age from 11 to 18, performing songs from every era of the legendary band the Eagles long career. Including hit songs like The Long Run, Life in the Fast Lane, Already Gone and Desperado, performed alongside classic Eagles album tracks like Seven Bridges Road, Those Shoes, New Kid in Town, and more.

"We are very excited to bring our Eagles performance to the Millbrook Playhouse and have the opportunity to perform in front of a new audience," said Collective Executive Director, Dave Brumbaugh. "Our students will be fresh off of two nights at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport and ready to dive right in and rock The Playhouse with some great Eagle's music".

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. Over the years, the band also featured members Joe Walsh, Don Felder, and Timothy B. Schmit. With numerous awards and number one albums, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s. At the end of the 20th century, two of their albums, Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) and Hotel California, were ranked among the 20 best-selling albums in the United States. The band was ranked number 75 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

The Eagles are one of the world's best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 150 million records. Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) was the best-selling album of the 20th century in the U.S and they are recognized as the highest-selling American band in U.S. history.

"The Eagles embody the Uptown Music Collective's vision of what it means to be a "well-rounded musicians," said Brumbaugh. "They are great songwriters, who also happen to be high-quality musicians who have produced some of the most memorable guitar riffs and solos in the history of classic rock. Put that alongside the amazing quality of their solo and group singing, and their ability to slip between rock and country while always managing to serve the song. It's no wonder our students are so pumped to perform their music."

Life in the Fast Lane: The Story of the Eagles will feature Collective students who have been diligently preparing for this event for over two months. Along with the live music, there will be a professional grade light and sound show organized by the students themselves. As with all Uptown Music Collective performances, the students are not only the performers but also direct the show. There is also a group of younger students, called "Tech Monkeys" who will serve as stage technicians and spotlight operators. The cast for the show is drawn from the Uptown Music Collective's much heralded Special Performance Group 1.

This show is being produced by UMC Alumni, AJ Robbins, and Kelsey Silvagni. It is directed by Uptown Music Collective students Keely Krause (Hughesville Area H.S.) and Gage Avery (Hughesville Area H.S.), along with a leadership committee that includes UMC students Tate Berkey (Danville Area H.S.), Alexis Carnevale (WAHS), Mitchell Gartner (WAHS), Cade Palmatier (Jersey Shore H.S.), David Montis (St, John Neumann), Isabella Cole (Loyalsock Township H.S.), Izzy Brumbaugh (WAMS), Enso Tran (WAHS), Patrick Newman (Loyalsock Township H.S.), UMC Alumni, JaRon Williams (Pennsylvania College of Technology), Shayne Williams (WAHS), Maya Caringi (WAHS) and Hailey Beck (WAHS).

"The Eagles are a band that I've always known and admired, but never really listened to for a long time," say Collective Student Molly Chapman (14, C.E. McCall Middle School) "I knew only the hits and now, like every show, we're digging beneath the surface of the popular songs, and getting into some lesser known songs. My appreciation for them has only increased in the time I have been sitting down and learning their music. They were a pretty incredible band with amazing and full harmonies and the guitar parts are fun to play and really catchy. I'm super excited to perform a tribute to this band!"

Tickets are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door. For tickets, please visit www.millbrookplayhouse.org or call 570-748-8083.
