Trio Clavino to Perform in Concert at the Ware Center

Lancaster's own Trio Clavino will perform a concert of chamber music, with works ranging from the 18th and 19th centuries by Mozart and Schumann to those of contemporary composers Srul Irving Glick and Ping Jin-at the Ware Center of Millersville University in Lancaster on Saturday, Nov. 15, starting 7:30 p.m. in Steinman Hall.

Members of Trio Clavino-who are Artists-in-Residence at the Pre College Music Division Program at Millersville University-include Trio Clavino founder, Xun Pan, artistic director of Lancaster International Piano Festival, professor of piano and director of the Pre College Music Division; Doris Hall-Gulati, principal clarinet in the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia,; and violinist/violist Simon Maurer, concertmaster of the Schuylkill Symphony Orchestra and assistant concertmaster of the Pennsylvania Sinfonia. As Trio Clavino, they have toured in Europe and in China, where they returned last year with a Fulbright Grant, arranged by the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, to play in such major concert halls as the China Conservatory of Music Concert Hall in Beijing and Oriental Arts Center in Shanghai, as well as in hospitals, universities and schools, where they taught master classes to Chinese students. Trio Clavino concluded its latest European tour in March 2014.

Tickets for the concert are $15 general admission, $12 seniors, $5 students (free for MU students with valid I.D.), and can be purchased at www.ArtsMU.com or by calling the MU ticket office, at 717-871-7600, or the Ware Center, at 717-871-7018. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the ticket office, located in the Student Memorial Center on campus, or at the front desk of the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.
