The newly elected chair of the Totem Pole Playhouse Board of Directors announced today changes in the composition of the board. Assuming the position of Chairperson is Dana Witt, of Vice Chairperson is Rose Tripi, and of Secretary/Treasurer is Karl Shreiner. Mary Louise Lucas will serve as Recording Secretary. Martha Walker, Esq. and Jake Kauffman CPA, have offered their professional services in an advisory capacity. The board expressed appreciation to William Gindlesperger, Maxine Gindlesperger, Nathan Rotz, and David Black for their contributions to the board during the past year.

Ray Ficca, outgoing Artistic Director of the theater, is leading a search committee considering experienced theatrical professionals applying for the dual position of Artistic and Executive Director of Totem Pole Playhouse as it goes into the 2014 season. Mr. Ficca, the very popular Artistic Director for the past five years, is leaving to pursue other interests closer to his home in Alexandria, VA, and assures a smooth transition to his successor.

Totem Pole Playhouse made progress in returning to a solid financial position during the 2013 season and will be building upon that with continued fund raising efforts going into 2014. Ticket price increases, coupled with expanded sales and marketing activities contributed to the improved financial results. However, most professional summer theaters rely on ticket sales for only a portion of their budget revenues. Contributions from individuals and businesses are critical for the successful operation of any nonprofit theater. Therefore, the Board of Directors will be initiating an Annual Fund campaign within the coming weeks.

Totem Pole Playhouse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and all contributions to it are tax deductible in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code.
