Theatre Harrisburg concludes its 2012-2013 Mainstage season with the 2002 Tony Award- winning but rarely presented musical comedy URINETOWN. Opening Friday, May 31 at Whitaker Center, other performances are scheduled for June 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 & 16. Show times are Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1 at 4:00 p.m., Saturday June 8 & 15 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. This production is sponsored by The Shearer Family Fund of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities on behalf of R. Scott Shearer.

URINETOWN is described as a humorous tale of greed, corruption, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold and the government has enforced a ban on private toilets. This irreverent satire features a delightful, eclectic score which parodies famous musicals of the past. A comedic romp with an outrageous perspective and a wickedly modern wit.

Theatre Harrisburg takes its slogan "Where Community Takes Center Stage!" very seriously and recognizes that current economic conditions make it difficult for many of their friends and neighbors in Central Pennsylvania to enjoy live theatre. That's why every seat in the house of all three opening weekend performances of URINETOWN (May 31, June 1 & 2) is priced at only $15. Beyond that, tickets are still a very reasonable $20, $29 & $35. Tickets may be purchased by visiting or calling the Whitaker Center box office at (717) 214-ARTS.
