The Elks Theatre presents Spielberg Spectacular! The entire month of June.Screening four of Steven Spielberg's best works to hit the big screen.

Starting today, June 7th - 9th Steven Spielberg's maritime thriller storms back on to Middletown's big screen. Police chief Martin Brody's (Roy Scheider) summer anxieties intensify when a hungry Great White shark chooses the cozy island town of Amity as its new feeding ground. With help from ichthyologist/city boy Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and rustic shark hunter Quint (Robert Shaw), the chase is on to put an end to the terror of JAWS!

June 14th - 17th Raiders of the Lost Ark, a 1981 American fantasy-adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by George Lucas, and starring Harrison Ford. It is the first (chronologically, the second) installment in the Indiana Jones franchise. It pits Indiana Jones (Ford) against a group of Nazis who are searching for the Ark of the Covenant which Adolf Hitler believes will make their army invincible. The film co-stars Karen Allen as Indiana's former lover, Marion Ravenwood; Paul Freeman as Indiana's nemesis, French archaeologist René Belloq; John Rhys-Davies as Indiana's sidekick, Sallah;Ronald Lacey as Gestapo agent Arnold Toht; and Denholm Elliott as Indiana's colleague, Marcus Brody.

June 21st - 23rd E.T. Steven Spielberg's 1982 tour-de-force explores the friendship between a lonely 10 year-old boy, Elliott (Henry Thomas), and a lost alien. Featuring supporting work from genre favorite Dee Wallace, young Drew Barrymore, and Peter Coyote. Spielberg's most personal film was a box office smash when first released, and continues to enchant audiences of all generations. It also remains Spielberg's favorite of his own movies.

June 28th - 30th SAVING PRIVATE RYAN (Sponsored by Middletown VFW Post 1620) SAVE THE ELKS is honored to present with the Middletown VFW the war epic that garnered Steven Spielberg his second Academy Award for Best Director. The film stars Tom Hanks, Edward Burns, Matt Damon, and Tom Sizemore, but also has a riveting score by John Williams. 'Saving Private Ryan' will be the fourth and final installment of a month-long Steve Spielberg Blockbuster Film Festival. The other films are TBA. Presented on glorious 35mm.

As part of the June 28th - 30th weekend the Elks Theatre will honor Military Veterans and current members of the U.S. Military with its Tribute To The Troops Weekend . On Saturday and Sunday June 29th & 30th The Elks Theatre will be screening Saving Private Ryan and will also have a collection of WWII memorabilia on display. Before the movie, attending veterans and current members of the U.S. Military will be recognized.

Also showing June 1st One night only the Elks will screen the Cult Classic "Back To The Future" 1980s high schooler Marty McFly finds himself in a jam after accidentally traveling back to the 1950s in a time-traveling Delorean and interrupting the union of his own parents. With the help of eccentric inventor Doc Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd), Marty must set things right so that he will be born before traveling back to the future. Featuring supporting work from Lea Thompson, cult actor Crispin Glover, and Thomas F. Wilson, Back To The Future remains one of the most signature 80s zeitgeist films, as well as one of the most beloved contemporary classics. Experience the exuberant and zany fun of Back To The Future on Middletown's big screen for one night only.
