A tiny snail longs to see the world, so she hitches a lift on the tail of a humpback whale. But when the whale gets beached, how will the snail save him? The answer to that-along with a life lesson about friendship-will be colorfully and musically revealed through the storytelling magic, original music and physicality of the world-renowned, British children's theater company, Tall Stories. "The Snail & The Whale" comes to the Ware Center of Millersville University on Sunday, Oct. 26, straight from its Broadway run for families with young children, as part of the Ware Center's Family Fun Fest series. The show will begin at 3 p.m.; the Ware Center lobby will open at 2 p.m. for kids to come early to participate in free, fun and creative show-themed activities and enjoy healthy snacks. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.

The show "The Snail and the Whale" is based on the multiple award-winning, 2006 children's book of the same name by author Julia Donaldson, and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Since opening as a theatrical work in 2012, it has been on tour around the United Kingdom and the world.

The pre-show activities are made possible through a partnership with Fig Magazine, Lancaster Country Day School-Project Arts, Lancaster Public Library, the Creative Experiences for the Young Child class at Millersville University, the North Museum of Nature and Science, and Power Packs.
