The first Fam Fun Fest event of 2014 begins with "Skink-Dance, Theater, Circus!" - A fun filled event for the whole family. The one hour show features fantastic acrobatics, zany costumes and props, a hearty dose of comedy, and a wide range of music from classical to pop. The famed Philadelphia Dance Company JUNK Dance Company - which presents its dance show for adults later that evening -- creates a world of magic and wonder especially for kids.

Skink is a collection of 14 fast-paced vignettes by JUNK Dance Co. in which the dancers portray characters and creatures of wacky proportions. Brought to life from the rich imagination of choreographer BrIan Sanders, Skink is a circus extravaganza.

Some of the three-ring worthy attractions include a 10 ft. tall disco cow that stumbles awkwardly on stilts, an old man who dances on his head, and a madcap ringmaster and the polka-dotted lizard for which the show is named. It has been called a "small-top circus that packs big laughs" by The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The show, which starts at 11 AM at The Winter Visual & Performing Arts Center, located on the Millersville University campus (60 Cottage Avenue, Millersville) is preceded by a Skink-themed hands-on activities hour at 10 AM. Barry Kornhauser and friends have created nearly half a dozen interactive fun games and projects for the kids.

There is convenient and FREE parking near the Center.

In addition to Millersville University, the Fam Fun Fest series is sponsored by Rodgers & Associates, Ann B. Barshinger, Fine FIG Lancaster Magazine, Hagelgans & Veronis, Dr. Mary Kearns & Dr. Jon Walker, Members 1st Credit Union and Peggy Neff.
