Set in 19th century England, this is the tale of Benjamin Barker, aka Sweeney Todd, who returns to London after 15 years of exile and imprisonment. He vows revenge, first on the judge who sentenced him, and later on the whole world. Joining forces with pie-maker Mrs. Lovett, he opens a barbershop in which he slits the throats of customers and has them baked into meat pies. The winner of eight Tony Awards on Broadway, the recent popular film adaptation starred Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.
