Mix together a batch of special fruitcakes, 10,000 outdoor Christmas lights, a chicken pox epidemic, 2 southern spinsters, an angel on roller skates, an estranged old man, a lost cat named "Tutti-Frutti" and a Christmas hog named "Buster," and you've got a recipe for a fun filled and touching evening filled with holiday cheer.

Into this world comes a kid who has run away from home and comes as far as his money will take him. At first he thinks this town's inhabitants are "nuttier than fruitcakes", but soon comes to admire, appreciate and adore this nutty little town. FRUITCAKES is a moving story of alienation, understanding and reconciliation.

When Rob Adams decided to make his own theatre company in 1995 he wanted to do bring new children productions to his audience. Fruitcakes is one of those plays that was selected. It is a perfect story for the holiday season and so Rob approached the Pa Playhouse with the idea of directing the production for the holiday season. Rob has also produced another play by Julian Wiles here at The Playhouse - The Boy Who Stole the Stars. As Rob has said, "I hope that you enjoy this heart touching story as much as I do, and that it provides you with a heaping helping of holiday warmth and Christmas cheer."
