Millbrook Playhouse (David E. Leidholdt-Producing Artistic Director, and the Board of Directors) is proud to present A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS to be performed by the Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble (MPYE).

"This is a really exciting new project," says Artistic Director David E. Leidholdt. "These young artists have moved from taking classes and playing supporting roles to having their very own forum for expression."

This audition-based program is designed to inspire, nurture, and support young performers who have shown a dedication to the theatre. This talented young artists ensemble is derived from Millbrook Playhouse's 2015 season and summer educational programs, performers range in age from 7- 16.

"They will be working together to create a professional theatre experience, each ensemble member must strive to better themselves as an artist and become a catalyst for positive change in their communities," says Artistic Associate, Matt Spencer.

The inaugural production for MPYE will be A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS. Charlie Brown and his gang come to life in this faithful stage adaptation where Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the other Peanuts grapple with the real meaning of Christmas. When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees among everyone during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become the director of the school Christmas pageant. Charlie Brown accepts, but this proves to be a frustrating endeavor. When an attempt to restore the proper holiday spirit with a forlorn little Christmas fir tree fails, he needs Linus's help to learn what the real meaning of Christmas is.

The Youth Ensemble includes: Colby Stoner (Mill Hall) as Charlie Brown, Madi Meeker (Lock Haven) as Snoopy, Olivia Hanna (Lock Haven) as Lucy, Garrett Cunningham (Lock Haven) as Linus, Kendall Eichenlaub (Lock Haven) as Pig Pen, Jessica Pergallini (Lock Haven) as Frieda, Elizabeth Shaffer (Jersey Shore) as Schroeder, Megan Spencer (Lock Haven) as Violet, Aimee Hunsinger (Mill Hall) as Sally, Jessica Spencer (Lock Haven) as Patty, Elana Shaffer (Jersey Shore) as Shermy, Daisy Samples (Westfeild) as Woodstock.
