Millbrook Playhouse is proud to present the Teen Performing Arts Academy's performance of the classic musical, Godspell Jr.
A cast of 28 talented young Millbrook Playhouse students will present two performances of the Broadway Musical Godspell Jr. Saturday, August 12 at 12:00 and 3:30 on the Ryan Main Stage at the Millbrook Playhouse.
Godspell Jr. was the first musical written by Grammy- and Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) and John-Michael Tebelak. The timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love, based on the Gospel of Matthew, features an eclectic blend of songs ranging in style from pop to vaudeville including "Day by Day," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts" and "We Beseech Thee." The students will bring to life a number of parables, teaching messages of kindness and tolerance using a wide variety of storytelling techniques, a hefty dose of comic timing, and current real-world references. It is sure to delight and encourage you.
The production is the culmination of a the Teen Performing Arts Academy program and is Directed by Artistic Associate Matt Spencer, Music Directed by Michaela Barczak, Choreographed by Timmy Gage and the Associate Director is Brooke Reese. The students, who range in age from 13 to 18, were taught acting and musical theater techniques while preparing to appear on stage.

Godspell Jr. has music written by Stephen Schwartz and book by John-Michael Tebelak, Lighting Design by Brooke Reese, Props Design by Timmy Gage, and Sound and Set Design by Abigail Palaski.
Godspell Jr. runs Saturday, August 12 at 12:00 and 3:30. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $7 for students/ Group rates are available.
