Millbrook Playhouse Announces 2016-17 Youth Ensemble

Millbrook Playhouse has announced the 2016-17 Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble (MPYE).

"After a very successful inaugural season we are thrilled to announce that we are continuing the program." says Artistic Director David E. Leidholdt, "the group has almost doubled in size going growing form from seventeen members to over thirty members for season two."

This audition-based program is designed to inspire, nurture, and support young performers who have shown a dedication to the theatre. This talented young artists ensemble is derived from Millbrook Playhouse's main stage season and summer educational programs, performers range in age from 7- 18.

"They will be working together to create a professional theatre experience, each ensemble member must strive to better themselves as an artist and become a catalyst for positive change in their communities," says Artistic Associate and Education Director, Matt Spencer.

Olivia Hanna (Lock Haven), Dane Hanna (Lock Haven), Aimee Hunsinger (Mill Hall), Joshua Lavallee (Longanton), Shannon Long (Mill Hall), Kenetcha Long (Lock Haven), Tara Mader (McElhattan), Madi Meeker (Woolrich), Olivia Miller (Lock Haven), Trinity Miller (Lock Haven),

The holiday production for MPYE will be ELF THE MUSICAL, JR. Based on the cherished New Line Cinema hit, Elf JR. features songs by Tony Award-nominees, Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, with a book by Tony Award-winners, Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin. Elf the Musical Jr. tells the story of Buddy, a young would-be elf who is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. ELF THE MUSICAL, JR is a perfect for all ages!

ELF THE MUSICAL, JR. will be performed on Friday, December 16 at 7:00pm, Saturday, December 17 at 5:00pm and 8:00pm and Sunday, December 18 at 2:00pm at the Sloan Fine Arts Center on the Lock Haven University campus. The Production will be Directed and Choreographed by Artistic Associate, Matt Spencer with Musical Direction by Sheila Carroll.

Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for Students and Children. A Family Pack is available for $40, which includes 2 adults and 2 children.
