James Tormé, son of 3-time Grammy Award-winning jazz legend Mel Tormé, (the author of the iconic classic "The Christmas Song"), will perform at the Ware Center on Friday, February 13, 2016 at 7:30 PM. Often appearing with outfits like the BBC Concert Orchestra, Ronnie Scott's Orchestra and Les Paul Trio, the charismatic star's debut album has topped both the iTunes and Amazon Jazz Charts. An artist of sensational vocal artistry and showmanship, Tormé is sure to provide an excellent night for anyone celebrating Valentine's Day. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.

Praised from all corners of the globe by everyone from Billboard () and CBS News, to BBC Radio 2 and Jamie Cullum, Tormé consistently appears to standing room only crowds at the world's top venues, and is featured as the centerpiece of prestigious jazz festivals across the globe.

"The best male jazz singer to come along in 20 years," says longtime Verve Records president, Chuck Mitchell, of Tormé.

Having grown up spending time with a myriad of jazz legends such as Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Duke Ellington, George Shearing, Buddy Rich and more, it is no surprise that Tormé attributes as much of his ability as a performer to the "process of osmosis" as he does to his own show-business background. As Tormé explains, "There's no question, I absorbed a lot from my dad, and his peers."

But Tormé also strives to bring something new to the classics he performs, "which is really what my father did as a song stylist," he says. Tormé sings the oldies -- and has proven in countless venues that he can scat, swing, and riff with the best of them -- but with a modern styling that makes them very current in today's market.

Says Dan Aquilante of the New York Post, "James Tormé is definitely his father's son - smooth and cool."
