A Christmas Carol, the classic Christmas tale of a greedy humbug's last-minute redemption, ushers in the holiday season at Hershey Area Playhouse starting December 5, 2013! This original musical, based on the Charles Dickens novel, is written by Lancaster theatre veteran, Barry Kornhauser. With over 30 years of involvement with the Fulton Theatre and scores of awards, Kornhauser's works have taken the local playwright to the White House, Tony Award-winning stages, the Kennedy Center, and more.
Director Cory Wilkerson is excited to be bringing this adaptation to life in Hershey, "Together we will use this wonderful script to become a band of storytellers who bring to life the story so simply, so joyously and so honestly, that it becomes larger than what we all have made together." She also adds, "The story of Ebenezer Scrooge is above all else, a beautiful story of a man who goes on a fantastic journey to the heart of what it means to be human, and Barry Kornhauser's wonderful script is the perfect vehicle - written for actors to play many roles and bounce back and forth between playing the character and narrating the story."
Phil Jurus stars as "Scrooge" in the production. The ensemble cast, each playing multiple roles includes: Abigail Bridgeman, Tom Curry, Chloe Dougherty, Beth Dunham, Dan Fisher, Tracey Ford, Alexander Hatt, Jake Henry, Luke Henry, Danielle Klinger, Samantha Koegler, Katie Latta, John Mallonee, Maxine Oliver, Sydney Palmquist, Amiekay Peach, Dara Rees, Maggie Ross, Scott Schmittel, John Simpson, Fletcher Smith, Rita Smith, Jonathan Weschler, Christian B.
