Just in time for Valentine's Day, Hershey Area Playhouse will present THE FANTASTICKS, a romantic comedy about a young man and the girl next door, whose fathers have built a wall to keep them apart. As the love story unfolds, the audience is invited to "Try to Remember" and follow this cast of characters into a world of moonlight and magic.

"It's a story that can take place in any time," said director, Dara Rees. "It's relatable, and that's why I love it so much. Everyone can relate to some moment in the show, if it's the pitter-patter of your heart when finding your true love or that desire for what seems to be forbidden, or all the falters along the way to finding happiness."

Opening off-Broadway in May 1960, THE FANTASTICKS, featuring music from Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones, went on to become the world's longest-running musical, logging more than 17,000 record-breaking performances.

Directed by theatre veteran Dara Rees with musical direction by Todd Boden, The Fantasticks is a charming tale of love, deceit, romance and reality that has entranced generations of audiences the world over.

Cast members include: Steve Dincau as Mortimer; Kurt Dise as Hucklebee; Benjamin Eisenhour as Matt; Gene Ellis as Bellomy; Ira Rappaport as Henry; Natalie Young as Luisa; Sara Zentmeyer as The Mute; and Travis Zimmerman as El Gallo.
