Hershey Area Playhouse Announces 10,000 Steps Walk-A-Thon For The Health Of The Playhouse

Walk for health and a good cause by walking to support the Hershey Area Playhouse while enjoying a fun family event on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 1pm-3pm. In case of rain, the Walk-A-Thon will take place Sunday, September 23, 2018. Just go to the online registration site and follow the instructions to create your online walk-a-thon pledge sheet and set a goal: https://ssl.charityweb.net/hersheyareaplayhouse/walk2018/

Once you have created your own walk-a-thon page, share the URL with your friends, post on social media and challenge yourself to meet your goal. It's easy! The site will automatically collect the pledges for you and send your friends and family a receipt for their generosity. Then all you will need to do is come out on the day of the walk and walk your promised steps. The route winds through the lovely tree lined sidewalks of a low traffic neighborhood behind the Playhouse.

We've mapped out a leisurely walk on tree lined sidewalks, one lap of the course is equivalent to about 5000 steps, and two laps is equivalent to about 10,000 steps. The Walk-A-Thon begins in front of the Playhouse which sits on the grounds of Country Meadows Hershey Campus, 830 Cherry Drive, Hershey PA. Water, restrooms and first aid stations will be available inside the Playhouse. We will also have teams with water for you along the route, and refreshments at the end. Once your walk is over stop and enjoy a snack on us and be sure to stay for the end of day prize ceremony beginning at 3:00 PM.

Can't make the day of the event? No problem! Walk on your own on your favorite route and then just send us a picture of the step count on your step tracking device or even a selfie of you walking. There are prizes for the three who earn the most in pledges including a brand-new Fitbit and other great items, you do not need to be present to win. All pledges must be entered in your online form by the end of the day on Friday the 15th, to be eligible for the most dollars raised contest. Hershey Area Playhouse (www.HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing residents of the community with an opportunity to participate in the creation and production of a theatrical experience. Since its inception in 1999, Hershey Area Playhouse has staged dozens of productions at numerous venues around the Hershey area. In April 2007, the Playhouse opened its new permanent home, Hershey Area Playhouse at Country Meadows.
