Harrisburg Shakespeare Company will continue its 2013-2014 Mainstage Season with Ronald Harwood's "THE DRESSER" which will run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. from February 15-March 9 at Gamut Classic Theatre, located on the Third Floor of Strawberry Square, Downtown Harrisburg.

Based on the author's own experiences as dresser to Sir Donald Wolfit, this bracing, heartbreaking drama is an elegy to a by-gone era. Backstage at a theatre in the English provinces during WWII, Sir, the last of the great breed of English actor/managers, is in a bad way tonight, as his dresser Norman tries valiantly to prepare him to go on stage as King Lear. Unsure of his lines as well as who and where he is supposed to be, Sir is adamantly determined to roar his last.

"THE DRESSER" will be directed by Dan Burke and feature Gamut's Artistic Director, Clark Nicholson, as veteran actor, "Sir", and David Newhouse as his dresser, "Norman". Gamut Theatre Group is led by Artistic Director Clark Nicholson and Executive Director Melissa Nicholson.

"THE DRESSER" will be presented at Gamut Classic Theatre in Strawberry Square from February 15 through March 9 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and on Sundays at 2:30pm. Tickets are $27 for adults and $17 for students/seniors.

Private performances are available for school groups on November 5, 12, and 19 at 9:30 a.m. Tickets for Student Matinees are $12 each.

Friday performances: Buy One Ticket, Get One free; Saturday performances: One admission is free with purchase of a regular-priced admission and donation of a bottle of wine for HSC's annual Shakespeare's Birthday celebration; Sunday performances: Bring Your Own Price, where any size donation buys your admission.

Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
