Gretna Theatre Announces Casting for MAN OF LA MANCHA

Gretna Theatre, whose mission is to create community by producing and presenting live, professional theatre that engages, transforms, entertains and educates, has announced casting for their third production for the summer, Man of La Mancha. The Theatre is pleased to be bringing back Timothy Shew in the role of Don Quixote. Mr. Shew lives locally in Hershey and has appeared on Broadway multiple times. Directing the production is Gretna Theatre's Artistic Director, Thomas Coté.

Also in the cast are DC Anderson as Sancho and Lianne Marie Dobbs as Aldonza. Filling out the cast are Lebanon natives Rob Ventre and Alicia Campbell; Christopher Brian, Vincent Fazzolari, Casey Furlong, David Gaynor, Andy Ingalls, Jason Plourde and Gregory Ramsey. Sets by Kyle Dixon, lights by Diana Duecker, costumes by Janell Berté and Beth Dunkelberger, sound by Johnathan Shuey. The production Stage Manager is Erin Edelstein.

Man of La Mancha is the iconic musical that includes the song "The Impossible Dream". Written by Dale Wasserman with music by Mitch Leigh and Lyrics by Joe Darion, the musical is based on the novel by Cervantes and won a Tony award for Best Musical.

The production opens at the Mt. Gretna Playhouse on July 13, 2017 and runs two weekends through July 22, 2017 with performances on Thursdays at 2:00pm & 7:30pm, Fridays at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 2:00pm & 7:30pm. Tickets are $39 and $36, students with ID $15.

Gathering Blue August 24-26, 2017, a world premiere musical based on the novel by Lois Lowry
