The Board of Directors and Artistic Director, David Leidholdt, are pleased to announce Little Red in the Hoods by Karen Boettcher-Tate on Saturday May 13 at 10:00am on the Ryan Main Stage.
This new and zany adaptation of the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood is wonderful for children and adults alike. It is told with modern lessons for today's children. As this engaging story goes, of course, Little Red is taking cookies to her grandmother when she encounters Harry Wolf. Harry works for the notorious leader, Ma Sugar Lump, and wants to steal the recipe to the cookies. The pack of "meanies" can then bake more cookies, sell them to others and become rich! Fortunately, their plot fails. This play teaches its young audiences about not judging people by their looks, how to protect themselves from strangers and the importance of reading. This show is both fun and educational at the same time. And for extra excitement Little Red in the Hood features interactive audience participation. Children volunteer to come up on stage, you can enjoy seeing your daughter or son become a part of the story!
Little Red and the Hoods features a professional cast including: Morgan Sichler as Zelda/Little Red, Matt Spencer as the Narrator, Stuart Harsch as Maggie/Grandmama/Ma Sugar Lumps, and Aaron Kelley as Humphrey/Harry Wolf.
