Gettysburg Community Theatre to Host Benefit Concert, 7/10

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the not-for-profit 501c3 organization located in the former Elks Lodge at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, PA, will have a special benefit concert Friday, July 10th at 7pm at GCT featuring students of GCT singing along with Broadway veteran and Gettysburg native Mr. Bruce Moore. The Broadway music cabaret will include complimentary wine and cheese reception. Tickets can be purchased over the phone at (717)-334-2692 or online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or by visiting the box office during box office hours Tuesdays-Fridays 4-7pm.

Bruce Moore made his directorial debut last year in his home town here at Gettysburg Community Theatre with his direction of The Secret Garden. This fall he will direct Annie Get Your Gun for GCT and he is thrilled to be teaching musical theatre camp at GCT the week of July 6th culminating with a very special benefit concert with the students on July 10th at 7pm. Bruce has appeared in three Broadway shows, five Disney Animated Features, six national tours, countless regional theatres and dinner theatres and several regional tours. Broadway credits include: Gypsy, which starred Tyne Daly, Bruce was featured as Yonkers. In My Fair Lady with Richard Chamberlain, Bruce understudied Freddy Einsford Hill. In Grease with a cavalcade of stars, including Lucy Lawless, Linda Blair, Jeff Conaway and Darlene Love, to name a few, Bruce played Doodie, Teen Angel and replaced one of the ensemble. You can hear his voice ringing out in Disney animated features such as Aladdin, Pocahontas, Mulan, Hunchback and Beauty & the Beast.

Summer Musical Theatre Day Camp registration is open for all weeks in July featuring instructors, Bruce Moore, Katie Pellegrino, Eric B. Mota, Becca Willett, Adam Rineer, and Kathy Moore McDougall. Kathy Moore McDougall, Bruce's sister, performed in the original Broadway run of A Chorus Line. She will be teaching the camp the week of July 27th also culminating with a benefit concert with the GCT students at end of the week.
