Gettysburg Community Theatre Announces 9th Annual Gala

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, announces their 9th Annual Gala Concert Hooray For Hollywood. Tickets are now on sale to all shows and can be purchased online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or by calling 717-334-2692 with credit card, or by visiting the box office with cash, check or credit card during box office hours 2-7pm Tuesdays-Fridays at GCT. Tickets to this special event benefit are $75 per person and reserved tables of 8 are available.

GCT's Founding Executive/Artistic Director, Chad-Alan Carr, will once again direct and lead a professional concert for GCT's 9th Annual Gala to be held Saturday, March 18th at the Gettysburg College Union Ballroom. The doors will open at 6:30pm to a red carpet event with delicious food stations, an open bar, silent and live auctions, dancing, and a concert of Hollywood music. The concert is performed by The Keating Jazz Orchestra with soloist singers that GCT has gathered that are all residents or alumni of Gettysburg area and include: Hayley Briner, Misty Coy Snyder, Marilyn Lopes, Megan Lee Miller, Kate Sainer, and Carrie Trax, along with dozens of children and adults of all ages from GCT. Musical selections will include memorable Hollywood tunes such as: "That's Entertainment", "Where The Boys Are", "Zing Went The Strings", "It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing", "Unforgettable", "You Made Me Love You", and dozens more.

Misty Coy Snyder

The Keating Jazz Orchestra was created in 2014 and is currently run by sister and brother duo, Kayla and Marty Keating. KJO is a compilation of professional and talented young musicians from the Pennsylvania/NJ area all with a passion for Jazz. Inspired by Glen Miller, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, and Stevie Wonder, KJO strives every day to reflect that big band sound but with their own unique twist.

Auction items for this event include autographed Broadway and Sports memorabilia, gift baskets, Disney World tickets, MGM Signature Suite Vegas weekend, helicopter ride, lessons at Ski Liberty, artwork, jewelry, and much more. Proceeds from this annual event help fund GCT's programming including the Penguin Project (theatre for youth with special needs), after school program, senior citizen theatre and improv outreach groups, as well as over ten theatre productions this year.
