Hershey Theatre has announced another highly anticipated season of top Broadway entertainment. Four critically acclaimed productions will grace the stage at the iconic venue. The Book Of Mormon will anchor the season and play a limited one week engagement.

"With something for everyone, each of the titles coming to the Theatre received overwhelming industry and audience acclaim."
The much-anticipated 2016-2017 Broadway Series includes an award-winning lineup of old and new classics:

§ Motown The Musical
The variety-filled Broadway season kicks off November 1-6, 2016 with A Gentlemen's Guide to Love & Murder, a The Tony® Award winner for Best Musical. A Gentleman's Guide tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession, by any means necessary. The most celebrated musical of the 2013-14 Broadway season, A Gentleman's Guide received ten 2014 Tony® Award nominations, eventually winning four awards: Best Musical, Direction of a Musical, Book of a Musical, and Best Costume Design. In addition, it won the Best Musical prizes from the Drama League, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle, and received a 2015 Grammy® Award nomination for Best Musical Show Album.
The Book of Mormon will take the stage of the Theatre November 22-27, 2016. The New York Times calls it "the best musical of the century." The Washington Post says, "It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals." And Entertainment Weeklysays, "Grade A: the funniest musical of all time." Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show calls it "Genius. Brilliant. Phenomenal." It'sThe Book of Mormon, the nine-time Tony Award®-winning Best Musical.
Hershey Theatre will welcome The Sound of Music March 21-26, 2017. The Hills Are Alive! A brand new production of The Sound of Music, directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O'Brien is touring. The spirited, romantic and beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences with its Tony®, Grammy® and Academy Award® winning Best Score, including "My Favorite Things," "Do-Re-Mi," "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "Edelweiss" and the title song. The Sound of Music enjoyed extraordinary success as the first live television production of a musical in over 50 years when "The Sound of Music Live!" aired on NBC in December, 2013 and was seen by over 44 million people. 2015 marked the 50th anniversary of the film version, which continues to be the most successful movie musical in history.
Get your dance shoes ready for Motown The Musical at Hershey Theatre from July 19-23, 2017. Motown The Musical is the true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy's journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and so many more. Featuring more than 40 classic hits such as "My Girl" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," Motown The Musical tells the story behind the hits as Diana, Smokey, Berry and the whole Motown family fight against the odds to create the soundtrack of change in America.
