For the first time in its history the Fulton Theatre will make it rain on stage, in a dazzling stage effect that will bring the beloved MGM film Singin' in the Rain to life in downtown Lancaster. The Fulton's artistic director Marc Robin directs and choreographs. "I have directed this show six times before but I have never had the opportunity to produce it exactly as I wanted, for various reasons. I am so excited because for the first time I have the ability to spread the rain effect over the entire stage, not to mention having the absolute best cast a director could ask for."
This production stars Fulton regular Curt Dale Clark as Don Lockwood (Sunset Boulevard, Hairspray, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Spamalot), Lauren Blackman as Kathy Seldon (Off Broadway: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Next Thing You Know, Fulton debut), Brian Shepard as CosMo Brown (Broadway: Follies, Guys and Dolls, Young Frankenstein, Spamalot, Fulton debut) and Emily Stockdale as Lina Lamont (Geva Theater, NY Philharmonic's Company, Fulton debut).
The production also features David Girolmo (Witness for the Prosecution, Sunset Boulevard, Sweeney Todd), Andrew Kindig (Fulton: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Hairspray, Grease), Charis Leos (Gypsy, Sunset Boulevard), Alison Manning (Fulton debut, Film: Love and Other Drugs, Pretty Little Things), Steven Charles Peterson (Hairspray, numerous roles at Maine State Music Theatre), and Katie Sina (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Hairspray, Sunset Boulevard).
The ensemble includes Nikki Allred, Jessica Ball, Patrick Graver, Ryan Patrick Lingle, Nathan Meyer, Buddy Reeder, Shain Stroff and Lauren Zapko.
Aaron McAllister continues his season-long role as Musical Director; Scenic Design by Thomas M. Ryan; Lighting Design by Paul Black; Costume, Makeup and Hair Design by Anthony Lascoskie, Jr.; Sound Design by Jacob Mishler; Props Design by Katelin Walsko. The Stage Manager is Timothy Markus and Assistant Stage Manager is Rebekah Lashof.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the much-loved film. Singin' in the Rain follows silent movie star Don Lockwood who has everything he could ever want-fame, adulation and even a well-publicized romance with his co-star Lina Lamont. But hilarity ensues when a new kind of film alters everything, the kind of film where actors talk, sing... and even dance! The musical features a glorious score including the well-known numbers "Make 'em Laugh," "Good Morning," "Moses Supposes" and, of course, "Singin' in the Rain."
