Open Stage of Harrisburg's 32nd season of thought-provoking theatre opens with FUN HOME. The Tony Award-winning musical is based on the critically-acclaimed graphic novel by lesbian cartoonist, Alison Bechdel. With music by Jeanine Tesori and books and lyrics by Lisa Kron, FUN HOME introduces us to Alison at three different ages as she explores and unravels the many mysteries of her childhood. A refreshing honest musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes, "FUN HOME is an emotional rollercoaster ride, a grippingly heartwarming story...You'll be surprised, and thrilled, and enthralled." (The Huffington Post).
Open Stage's production of FUN HOME is directed by Stuart Landon, making FUN HOME his first production as Producing Artistic Director. Music direction is by David M. Glasgow, Open Stage's newly appointed Director of Music and Education.
FUN HOME is the winner of 5 Tony Awards, including Best Musical in 2015. It has also received The New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Musical, the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical, and many more acclamations.
