Returning StAGEs participants will "spring" off the improvisational base established in the fall by reviewing some well-loved games and theatrical techniques. No experience is necessary, and time will be set aside to introduce new participants to the improvisational style of the class, bringing them up to speed swiftly, while creating a safe, fun environment for all! Novice and seasoned participants will also experiment with new games and techniques to find even more ways to make each other laugh!
This unique 12 session program will be led by National Council on Creative Aging (NCCA)-trained theatre artists Christina Myers and Luke MacCloskey. Myers and MacCloskey will guide participants through performance, learning, and experimenting with theatrical techniques to tell stories, create plot and characters, and build new friendships. Meet new people, make art, and enjoy the benefits of "creative aging."
Accommodations will be provided for those with physical limitations and/or stage fright. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants with a nominal fee of $5 per session. Full scholarships are available upon request. StAGEs will meet at DreamWrights, 100 Carlisle Avenue, York. DreamWrights is handicapped accessible with free, off-street parking.
