DreamWrights Center for Community Arts has been in the business of providing arts education since its inception, nearly twenty years ago. Part of DreamWrights' mission of offering ongoing arts educating of all ages is accomplished through the use of Guest Directors. DreamWrights provides an inviting environment for directors to work with a variety of individuals as a team to create an outstanding, complete production. Through mentorship, apprenticeship, and cooperative learning, DreamWrights provides opportunities for aspiring and developing directors to hone their craft. In turn, the use of different directors allows the actors, crew, designers and staff to experience various styles, inviting them to learn to work with many people. Even the experience of the audience is enhanced as they get to experience and enjoy the vision of different people as well.
Guest Directors will effectively implement and direct the vision of a production from auditions through strike in conjunction with designers and staff. This is a volunteer position that receives a small stipend.
DreamWrights will accept submissions on a rolling basis and maintain an ongoing pool of applicants from which to select directors each season. Directors who wish to be considered for one of the first four shows in 2017, must submit an application by June 15, 2016. All Guest Directors have been chosen for the 2016 Season. Please visit the DreamWrights website for more information and for the application procedure. http://www.dreamwrights.org/guest-directors2
