Gettysburg Community Theatre (GCT) the not-for-profit 501c3 community theatre located at 49 York Street in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present an all-youth cast of 4th-12th Grade actors in Disney's Beauty & The Beast jr. 8pm Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm Sundays April 27-May 13, 2018. Continuing their 10th Year celebration by presenting revivals of some of their favorite shows, GCT remembers fondly their youth production of Disney's Beauty & The Beast jr. they produced their very first year in 2009. One of the stars of that production was a young Liz Schmitz, a Gettysburg Area High School and Penn State University graduate that is now a working professional actress in NYC. This current production at GCT is being directed by Gettysburg native and Broadway veteran, Bruce Moore, who also happens to be a singer on the Disney animated feature film Disney's Beauty & The Beast, as well as many other Disney films.
"The children at Gettysburg Community Theatre are so excited to be working on one of their favorite Disney films", says director Bruce Moore. "Their enthusiasm is palpable. They are truly talented and ready to "soak up" any and all things theatrical. When they hear that I sang in the film of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, their eyes light up, and they ask about every detail. Gettysburg is so lucky to have GCT. I sure wish I'd had a great learning place like that when I was a kid here in Gettysburg."
