An ornery ogre, a peculiar princess, a talking donkey, a vertically-challenged villain, and a love struck dragon are headed to the Allenberry Resort! Shrek The Musical, the Broadway sensation based on Dreamworks Animation's 2001 blockbuster film, will run at The Playhouse at Allenberry from July 7 through 22, 2017.

Keystone Theatrics is delighted to announce full casting of the first show back at The Playhouse at Allenberry. The production will star Skyler Robert Carran as beloved swamp-dwelling ogre Shrek and Mackenzie Newbury as damsel in distress Princess Fiona. The cast will also feature Ayat Muhammad as Shrek's wisecracking sidekick Donkey and Josh Miccio as pint-sized villain Lord Farquaad.

They will be joined by a full company of fairy-tale characters including Jeremy Slagle as Pinocchio, with Josh Ankabrandt, Andrew Cox, Chase Gray, Kelley Hertzler, Mike Holmes, Kyle Malinosky, Bryden McCurdy, FrEddie Miller, Meghan Nardella, Olivia Notto, Ben Otto, Ava Pursel, Leah Riegel, Sushma Saha, Curtis Scotto, Terry Sheldon, Heather Smith, and Tiyana Smith.

The show is directed by Dustin C. LeBlanc with choreography by ElizaBeth Angelozzi and vocal direction by Mary Butler George. Shrek The Musical, originally directed by Jason Moore and Rob Ashford, is based on the story and characters from William Steig's book Shrek and the Academy Award®-winning Dreamworks Animation's feature film. It follows the story of an outcast ogre named Shrek who lives alone in a swamp. When a gaggle of fairy tale misfits are cast out of their homes by Lord Farquaad, they invade Shrek's swampy solitude. Shrek then finds himself on a life-changing journey along with a wisecracking Donkey and the feisty Princess Fiona. Featuring songs from five-time Tony Award nominee Jeanine Tesori and a sidesplitting script by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, Shrek The Musical combines the bawdy humor of the original film with spectacular musical numbers added for the stage production.

Shrek The Musical will be performed on July 7, 8, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 at 7:30 P.M. Matinee performances are July 9, 16, and 22 at 2:00 PM. The show will be performed at The Playhouse at Allenberry, located on the Allenberry Resort at 1559 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, PA 17007. Tickets are $28 for adults and $22 for students/seniors. For tickets, visit keystonetheatrics.com or call the Box Office at (717) 462-4401.
