Broadway Star Patti LuPone Comes to Lancaster This Month

The Ware Center Celebrates five years with a special event -- its 5th Anniversary Gala featuring legendary Broadway star Patti LuPone -- on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 7:30 PM.

Come see one of the Ware Center's most exciting events to date: Tony and Grammy Award winner Patti LuPone, in her critically-acclaimed concert, "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda... Played That Part." Ms. LuPone will perform songs from musicals she could have played, should have played, did play and will play.

Patti LuPone is truly a Broadway legend, with an amazing list of credits that includes Broadway, film, television, and the written word. A two-time Tony Award winner for her performances as Eva Peron in Evita and Madame Rose in the 2008 Broadway production of Gypsy, she is also a two-time Grammy Award winner, for Best Classical Recording and Best Opera Recording for the LA Opera's production of The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny¸ and was the first American actor to win London's coveted Olivier Award for her performance as Fantine in the world premiere of Les Miserables. Ms. LuPone is also a 2006 American Theater Hall of Fame inductee and the New York Times best-selling author of Patti LuPone: A Memoir.

Ms. LuPone's work in film includes parts in Driving Miss Daisy and Witness-shot right here in Lancaster County. On television, she most recently was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for her performance as The Cut Wife on the Showtime series "Penny Dreadful" and will return as an entirely new character, Dr. Seward, when the horror-thriller's returns for its third season this spring. Her many television credits include "American Horror Story: Coven," "Girls," "30 Rock," "Glee," "Will and Grace," and 3 years as Libby Thatcher on the beloved ABC series "Life Goes On." This summer, she will star as cosmetics tycoon Helena Rubinstein in the new Scott Frankel-Michael Korie-Doug Wright musical War Paint at Chicago's Goodman Theatre.
