The summer heats up with the sound of music when Bristol Riverside Theatre presents its annual three-concert Summer Musicale Fest. This year is an award-winning season with concerts focusing on Oscar-winning composers, Grammy award-winning artists, and Tony award-winning hit shows.
The series kicks off on June 18-28 with An evening with Lerner, Loesser, Loewe...and Schwartz! The concert features works by these award-winning songwriters who created some of the world's most popular works of musical theatre for both stage and film, including My Fair Lady, That's Entertainment, Guys and Dolls, and more.
In July BRT pays tribute to the composers of the early 1970s with You've Got A Friend on July 16-26, featuring songs by Grammy Award-winning artists James Taylor, Carole King, Jimmy Webb, and Paul Simon.
The Summer Musicale Fest concludes with Broadway Serenade on August 13-23. The hottest concert of the summer features hits from the golden years of Broadway, including Hello, Dolly!, Pippin, Wicked, On the Town, and Bye Bye Birdie, among others.
"Our Summer Musicale Series gives us a chance to explore the music of specific composers or a specific genre, introducing our audiences to rarely-heard gems and re-acquainting them with traditional favorites," said BRT's Artistic Director Keith Baker.
Series tickets at $84 and single tickets start at $32 ($27 for subscribers) are available by calling the BRT Box Office at 215-785-0100 or visiting brtstage.org. Bristol Riverside Theatre is located at 120 Radcliffe Street in Bristol, PA.
