The Players Club of Swarthmore opens its 107th season of award-winning community theater with the Kander, Ebb & Fosse classic musical Chicago Sept. 15-30, for ten performances at 614 Fairview Ave. in Swarthmore. Set in Chicago during the Roaring Twenties, an era renowned for organized crime, alcohol prohibition and the very best jazz, Anne Marie Scalies directs a razor-sharp show about bad girls behaving badly that will bring sass and brass to The Players Club of Swarthmore stage, along with choreography by Katie Sienkiewicz and Nate Golden, and musical direction by Emily Szal. It's 1920s, Chicago. Cook County Jail is home to a bawdy band of murderesses, all of whom have eradicated their insignificant others. Chanteuses Velma Kelly (Gabriella Bressi) and Roxie Hart (Liz Iannacci) have both acquired a spot on Death Row. Velma enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton (Kat Lemon) and smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn (Mark Thompson) to turn her incarceration into a media frenzy. But, not one to rest on her laurels, Roxie comes up with an ingenious plan to steal back the limelight and, instead of wrangling the law, the two divas find themselves fighting the ultimate battle - the race to celebrity superstardom.

Additional cast members in Chicago include Tommy Bennett, Michael Conwell, Randino Del Rosario, Abby Dietzler, Kevin Dietzler, Emma Bradley Dingle, John Dingle, Donna Dougherty, Caleb Duffy, Katie Horton, Gabrielle Impriano, Joanne McBride, Maria McVeigh, Connie Pelesh, Ryan Stone, Patrick Sutton, Alyssa Trusty, Brian Walsh, Tim Whelan, PJ Williams, and Elissa Zavodnick.
