Lolita Chakrabarti's award-winning play is based on the life of the Ira Aldridge, an African-American actor who had an international career in the 1800s. The play recounts Ira's successes and sorrows, as he shocks London's theatre establishment in 1833 by assuming the title role in OTHELLO, and 30 years later (played by the same actor) as an ailing star in Eastern Europe. Directed by Cheryl Doyle. Produced by Andrena Wishnie. Stage managed by Kelly E. Allen. Costumes by Ruth Schanbacher. Set design by George Hartpence. Starring Kyrus Keenan Westcott as Ira Aldridge, and (alphabetically) Ken Ammerman, Tess Ammerman, Kyla Donnelly, Matt Duchnowski, William Kamps, Erin Leder, Amanda McCarther, Tom Smith, and Joy Woffindin. Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
