Act II Playhouse in Ambler is putting a new "spin" on the annual fundraiser by presenting The Act II Price is Right, an original live game show, on Saturday, March 23.
Act II Artistic Director Tony Braithwaite will serve as host. "Our first live game show will feature audience participation, games of chance, and lots of comedic improvisation," Braithwaite said. "Come on down to Act II for a hilarious night of fun."
The evening begins at 7 p.m. with a cocktail hour, and a chance to meet and mingle. The show begins at 8 p.m.
This one-night-only event will feature games inspired by a variety of classic television game shows, including "Name That Tune," "The $25,000 Pyramid," "Jeopardy," "Family Feud" and, of course, "The Price is Right." There will also be hilarious fake advertisements.
Contestants will be drawn randomly from the audience, and they will be battle it out for valuable (and not-so-valuable) prizes.
Tickets for The Act II Price is Right are $40, and include pre-show drinks and food. All proceeds benefit Act II's artistic and educational programming. Pre-show appetizers will be provided by Sweet Briar Cafe in Ambler.
Tickets to The Act II Price is Right are available online at http://www.act2.org, over the phone at (215) 654-0200, or in person at 56 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler. Box office hours are 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
