A family owned business, the Timbers Dinner Theatre's original season was in 1976. It was produced by the famous Pennsylvania businessman, John Briody, and his wife, Joan Briody. Upon John's passing, Joan continues to oversee daily operations.

A hidden jewel of the Amish country, the Timbers has a solid reputation as a starting point for many artists over its 40 year history. The theatre has a non-judgmental atmosphere that supports creativity and growth. Artistic coordinator Kathleen Briody says, "In the theatre, we made the conscious decision to not use individual microphones and put in place a sound support design. This gives the actors an opportunity to strengthen their voices by projection. In modern day musical theater, with the scores being so high and the influence of pop culture, we like the idea of the performers having the opportunity to have a solid base to build on. by not being heavily mic'd."

The Timbers Summer Theatre offering is an original review show that has all performers singing, dancing, (tapping included) and acting in the 2nd part of the original comedy sketch written by different artists. The Timbers presents eight shows weekly, Tuesdays thru Saturdays in July and August.

Mt. Gretna is only about 3 hour drive from New York City and is nestled in a small quaint resort town that continues to thrive throughout the year with Mt Gretna Playhouse, Art festivals, Craft shows, Theme Parties, Winter events and much more.

Keeping up with the times, the Timbers family stays committed to the arts and continues to grow.
