DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre is proud to announce their 17th season of Live Theatre performances for children and adults running February to December 2014. Audition opportunities to become a part of the performances begin in December and tickets for all shows are on sale now!
"The 2014 DreamWrights season offers audiences a variety of shows that will entertain the whole family. From musical adaptations of popular tales like The Hobbit, to well-known favorites like Alice in Wonderland, and historical dramas like The Rememberer, the 2014 season is filled with shows sure to take audiences on an imagination adventure," said Ann Davis, executive director of DreamWrights.

Alice in Wonderland
Adventures abound when Alice falls down the rabbit hole while chasing the White Rabbit.

To See the Stars
This teen-driven production focuses on a group of female workers who challenge their deplorable work conditions by launching a strike after being frustrated by unfair labor practices in a male-dominated garment industry that has made millions off the backs of its employees.

Doctor Dolittle
Ill-equipped to doctor humans, Dr. Dolittle discovers a penchant for both healing and conversing with an eclectic menagerie of animals.

My Favorite Year
This classic musical comedy steeped in Broadway tradition will be performed and crewed by young adults ages 13 to 21. It's 1954 and Benjy Stone, a freshman writer on TV's King Kaiser Comedy Cavalcade, is assigned the daunting task of babysitting veteran Hollywood swashbuckler Alan Swann while he makes a guest appearance on the show.

A Comedy of Errors
(A FREE "Theatre Under the Trees" Performance)
This classic Shakespeare comedy offers a fast, funny lesson about the dangers of travel, with a side dash into the perils and promise of romance. Theatre Under the Trees is a series of FREE performances offered at local parks. The series also includes a final performance at DreamWrights on August 3.

The Rememberer
Joyce Cheeka, a young Indian girl, serves as her tribe's rememberer, the one to pass on the stories, history and wisdom of her people. When she is forcibly removed from the tribe and placed in a white boarding school, she must find a way to live among new people while preserving the honor and memories of her own people.

The Hobbit
In this musical adaptation of the J.R.R. Tolkien classic, thirteen mighty dwarves are on a quest to kill the evil dragon which has destroyed their home. They seem doomed to fail unless they can convince Bilbo Baggins to join their ranks and turn their thirteen into a luckier band of fourteen.

The Homecoming
Long before the movie and TV series The Waltons there was The Homecoming. This wonderful book tells the Christmas story of the Spencer family. It depicts a perfect reflection of rural America during the 1930s when families were growing up, laughing, and struggling together.
