Lehman Center for the Performing Arts and GOYA FOODS is proud to present YOLANDITA MONGE as she returns to Lehman Center for one night only to perform her concert Si Usted Supiera Seora celebrating the life of musical collaborator, Anthony Ros, on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 at 8pm. Yolandita Monge is an international vocalist, songwriter, actress, and television personality from Puerto Rico. Since her debut performance as a teenager, she has recorded 27 albums. Si Usted Supiera Seora will be a presentation of some of the most emblematic and emotional compositions of Anthony Ros, one of the greatest Dominican singer-songwriters of all time. Songs like Qutame ese Hombre del Corazn, La Distancia, El Amor, Este Amor Que Hay Que Callar, and Tiempo Perdido will be performed.Lehman Center for the Performing Arts spectacular 2019-2020 Season celebrates 40 Years of Excellence in the Centers newly renovated, 2,278 spacious seat concert hall, with a redesigned entrance, lobby, and elevator accessible balcony. Low-cost on-site parking available for $5.YOLANDITA MONGE is a singer, songwriter and actress from Puerto Rico who won her first radio singing contest at age eleven and was soon a regular on the Puerto Rican TV show Luis Vigoreaux Presenta. Blessed with a powerful and versatile vocal range, she released her first album, Puerto Ricos Poignant, Powerful, Incomparable: Yolandita Monge 1970, which contained several hits including El Estornudo and her unforgettable rendition of the Italian classic Vida. The next five years saw six additional albums, all filled with hit songs. In 1975 Yolandita released Cierra Los Ojos (included on her 1976 album Floreciendo) which became an international chart topper throughout Latin and South America. This led to a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City where she was backed up by her artistic godmother, the legendary Argentinian singer Libertad Lamarque, and five albums released by Coco Records of New York. Signing with CBS Records International in 1980, she released Fantasia, that included the hit song Tanto Amor. In 1983, she won the Buga (Colombia) Festival with her song S. Her 1985 record, Luz de Luna, which went gold with the hits El Poder del Amor, Te Veo Pasar, and Seor Del Pasado (written about Anthony Ros) made Yolandita a superstar, resulting in her first concert at the Centro de Bellas Artes de San Juan. With her next album Laberinto de Amor, also went gold and earned her a Grammy nomination in the Best Latin Pop artist category. She finished the decade with her masterpiece album Vivencias (1988) that included songs such as Acariciame, Este Amor Que Hay Que Callar, Por Ti, and Cuando Termina un Amor. That same year Yolandita was named the Best Selling Latin Artist of the year by Billboard Magazine, and in 1989, she won the Paoli Award for Best Video (for Por Ti and was nominated for Premio Lo Nuestro Best Female Ballad/Pop Singer. Over the last two decades, Yolandita has regularly released records that have gone gold including 2007s Demasiado Fuerte which debuted in the number one spot on Billboards Latin Pop Album chart and went gold, and the bachata version of Oportunidad Perdida with Anthony Ros. She continues to tour and sell out concerts, has had a secondary career as a stage and television actress, and has been honored by the Puerto Rican Senate for her long career as a singer and actress, as well as earning two of the most prestigious Latin music awards- the Premious Lo Nuestro Award and the Premios Tu Msica Award.
