County Players, one of the longest running community theatre companies in the area is proud to present the Comedy The Book of Will by Lauren Gunderson, opening Friday, September 9, 2022, Directed by Andrew Karl, performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday September 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24 at 8pm, with a matinees on Sunday, September 18, and Saturday September 24 at 2pm. and will be held at the County Players Falls Theatre, 2681 W. Main Street in the Village of Wappingers Fall.William Shakespeares been dead for three years. His friends and fellow actors miss him and his beautiful plays. When a pirated, badly botched Hamlet (To be or not to be, theres the point...), they realize Shakespeares lines are disappearing into the forgetful memory of time. They need a booka definitive copy of his original plays, but to make one, they have to battle an unscrupulous publisher, a boozy poet, and their own mortality. Lauren Gundersons look at Shakespeares First Folio is a lively, funny, poignant love letter to theatre and the printed word.The production features the local talents of Michael Frohnhoefer; Michele George; Declan McCarthy; Kevin McCarthy, Jr.; Kevin McCarthy, Sr.; Macy McKnight; David J. Ringwood; Julie Seltzer; Doug Woolley; and Robert Yarnall. Director Andrew Karl says: At its core, 'The Book of Will' is about a community coming together to honor their friend and each other.
